Solid Waste Permit

Please post your research here. We need to know if a solid waste permit is needed if a plant burns biomass. Please document who talked to whom, when, and what was discussed.

Sue Liu, Solid Waste Branch, says that no permit has been issued to HuHonua, however, they will not need one if they (1) refuse to accept solid waste, (2) do not move the byproduct of combustion outside their boundary, and (3) do not offer for reuse any waste products.

The reuse of wood ash for potash fertilizer will require a solid waste permit.
